SmartNews, a news app operator, announced on July 13 that it began collaborating with Double Verify, a digital media measurement and data analysis platform. SmartNews Ads, an advertising service for smart news, enables advertisers to accurately verify advertising effectiveness. It will be part of the company’s response to ad verification (verification of advertising value damage and countermeasures). With the growth of Internet advertising, fraudulent acts that are against the interests of advertisers are increasing, so we cooperated with DoubleVerifyt. Adverification measurement such as ad viewable rate, ad fraud rate, brand safety (prevention of ad placement that may damage the brand), etc. will be strengthened in cooperation with advertisers. It leads to loss prevention. Advertisers who have a contract with DoubleVerify will be able to accurately evaluate the banner ads (still images) of SmartNews Ads by providing ad quality index reports such as viewability, ad fraud, and brand safety. In collaboration with DoubleVerify, SmartNews measured the viewable rate of SmartNews Ads, which was 91%, above the average for Japan and Asia Pacific.
