The digitally remastered version of the late director Jun Ichikawa’s masterpiece “Tokiwa-so no Seishun” released in 1995 will be released as a Blu-ray version in September after being released in theaters in February 2021. The wooden double-decker apartment “Tokiwa-so” in Toshima-ku, Tokyo is a cartoon “sacred place” known to those in the know. It existed from 1952 to 1982, and especially in the 1950s, legends such as Osamu Tezuka, Fujiko Fujiko (Motoo Abiko & Hiroshi Fujimoto), Shotaro Ishinomori, and Fujio Akatsuka lived and created.
