The new song “Lonely As I Ever Was” has been released. The song is a howsy and mellow hip-hop soul reminiscent of Kaytranada and Steve Lacy, and was recorded entirely by himself. The lyrics are homage and quote to Erykah Badu’s neo-soul classic “Next Lifetime”. Born and raised in Rochester, New York, Spencer was given the middle name Miles after Miles Davis, aspired to the musical path from an early age, and participated in the prestigious Eastman School of Music’s summer jazz program as a teenager. .. After that, he self-taught to produce a bedroom, and after the EP work “Want U Back” released independently in 2018 became a hit by word of mouth, he dropped out of college and started his life as a musician. Today, it’s gaining attention as the centerpiece of a fast-growing creative community in Brooklyn’s Bedford-Stuy district, including Clairo, Snail Mail, Claude, and Binki. Spencer’s long-awaited debut album “Are U Down?” Will be released on 9/10 from 4AD. Produced during the pandemic, this work is a fusion of R & B, hip hop, funk, indie, pop, jazz, and soul, and contains a total of 11 songs that include analog and digital, past and present.
