Fairy Devices and the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) have announced that they have released a platform for automating transcription at the Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications meeting using voice recognition technology. This platform is a combination of the voice processing cloud platform “mimi” developed by Fairy Devices since 2013 and NICT’s voice recognition engine. The recorded voice data is converted into text by the NICT voice recognition engine via “mimi”, and the ministerial meeting is automatically transcribed. This method is said to be able to eliminate the troubles of “manual transcription of recorded data” and “confirmation and correction by humans” and the occurrence of human error, which are problems in conventional transcription. Fairy Devices and NICT will aim to improve the accuracy of voice recognition and the functions of UI tools, as well as to automate the transcription of press conferences including other ministries and agencies.
